“It’s always nice to come home and play in the orange kit. I know [Head Coach] Jake [Goodship] has been working hard behind the scenes to build a great environment and we’ve brought some great players in so I’m excited to see it all,” Gorry told brisbaneroar.com.au.

“I’m a family person – I have a lot of them and some new borns in the family to so I needed to come home and stay home."

It’s really special to play in front of family and friends – the Roar Corps are part of that family so it wouldn’t have felt right not playing for them and our fans.”

Gorry heads into her ninth season with her hometown club following a successful stint with Avaldsnes IL in the Toppserien.  The creative midfielder was instrumental for the Norwegian side as they put themselves in the hunt for the UEFA Women's Champions League spots.

For head coach Jake Goodship, securing Gorry's services is a boon for the side as they look to add a sixth trophy to their two Championships and two Premierships.

“Katrina has been one of the Westfield W-League’s finest footballers for some time now and she has been an incredible player for Brisbane Roar over many years,” Goodship said.

With 115 Westfield W-League appearances and 78 Westfield Matildas caps, the 28 year old adds plenty of experience to Goodship’s squad.

“It’s an exciting signing for the Club. To have a player of Katrina’s calibre back in Australia, back in Brisbane, well done to everyone involved in making it happen – the fans will love it.”

Brisbane Roar commence their season on the road to the Newcastle Jets on Monday, 28 December 2020.
