Growing up in country NSW in the small town of Grenfell, Hunt’s rise to the Matildas has taken a unique path. The 24-year-old spent most of her junior career playing in the Canberra United Academy and travelling with the NSW Academy team, before moving to Sydney to study at the University of Sydney and play with Sydney University and the Western Sydney Wanderers.

The centre-back has also faced a number of setbacks in the form of injuries, including an ACL, shoulder reconstruction and a broken ankle - all of which she’s said have made her come back as a stronger footballer and a better person.

Hunt was voted in the PFA A-Leagues Team of the Season after her 2022-23 season with the Western Sydney Wanderers, and based on this form she earned three senior appearances in the Matildas during the Cup of Nations tournament.

Hunt was praised for her calm and confident debut at the Cup of Nations tournament, with Head Coach Tony Gustavsson saying it was one of the greatest debuts he’d seen in his career.

Outside of football, Hunt has a Bachelor of Science degree from Sydney University and is currently studying Doctor of Physiotherapy in an extended Master.
