A graduate of the Future Matildas program, Courtney Nevin has slotted into the Matildas seamlessly. In the A Leagues Women’s competition, Courtney has played for her hometown club, Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne Victory, in which she contributed to Victory’s 2021-22 championship season.
Courtney made her debut for Australia against Denmark and was subsequently included on the travelling roster for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. However, a rule change to the final number allowed in the team saw Nevin included in the final roster and up for contention to compete. Following the Olympics, Nevin moved to Sweden to play for Hammarby IF and then joined English side Leicester City on loan.
Nevin's first season with the Foxes saw her nominated for April’s Player of the Month in the Barclays Women's Super League after picking up three assists and helping keep one clean sheet. The defender signed a contract with Leicester at the start of January 2023 and went on to feature in all of the Foxes' WSL games, helping the team avoid relegation.
The defender signed permanently for Leicester City before the FIFA Women's World Cup kicked off, looking to continue the remarkable performances she showed with the Foxes' at the end of the 2022/23 season.
