While torrential rain has postponed Sydney FC's shot at wrapping up the premier's plate, Adelaide United secured a big, historic win in round 13 of the Westfield W-League.
The action started in Perth on Thursday night with Melbourne City earning a second consecutive 1-0 win.
Westfield Matilda Jenna McCormick came close to opening the scoring early on in the match but her side would have to wait until the second half to find the back of the net.
A smart finish from Rhali Dobson in the 67th minute was enough to see City return to Melbourne with all three points.
Torrential rain in New South Wales saw the Sydney FC clash against Melbourne Victory called off on Saturday due to an unplayable pitch.
A little further north in Newcastle, the Jets hosted Canberra United with the visitors earning all an important victory.
While the rain didn't stop the match it certainly played a role with the sides playing in a heavy downpour. However, not even the rain could dampen Michelle Heyman's parade with the striker netting the lone goal.
The 22nd minute strike takes Heyman's season tally to 10, only two behind current golden boot leader, Westfield Matilda Emily Gielnik.
Adelaide and Western Sydney finished the round off at Coopers Stadium. In front of a new record standalone crowd, the Reds won 3-1 to keep their finals hopes alive.
Olivia Price's sixth minute opener was cancelled out by an Isabel Hodgson strike. Maruschka Waldus and Fiona Worts' second half goals completed the victory for Adelaide.
Adrian Stenta's side must now wait for the final round's results to see if they will be taking part in the Westfield W-League finals series for the very first time.
