WATCH: Gielnik’s stunning goal in Bayern’s huge Champions League win

Westfield Matildas attacker Emily Gielnik has scored her first goal for Bayern Munich as the German club put one foot in the Semi Finals of the UEFA Women's Champions League.

Gielnik scored Bayern’s fourth goal in an emphatic 5-0 win away at Kazakhstan side BIIK Kazygurt in the first leg of their Quarter Final tie.

And it was an impressive strike from the 27-year-old forward.

Racing on to an impressive through ball, Gielnik hit her shot first time from just outside the box, curling the ball past the keeper into the far corner of the net.

It was her first full 90 minutes since joining the German giants in August.

Gielnik, who has played 31 times for the Westfield Matildas, will hope she can carry her goalscoring form into the weekend’s Frauen Bundesliga match against Potsdam.

The Quarter Final second leg tie will be played in Munich on Thursday, August 31.

Elsewhere, Alex Chidiac’s Atletico Madrid picked up a solid result in their first leg away from home against English heavyweights Manchester City.

An 81st-minute goal from Veronica Charlyn Corra allowed Atletico to snatch a 1-1 draw to take back to Madrid for the second leg in a fortnight.

Joe Montemurro’s Arsenal are also in the box seat for a spot in the Women’s UCL Semi Finals after crushing Czech side Slavia Prague 5-2 away from home.
