Kicking off in Manchester, Mary Fowler, Hayley Raso and Alanna Kennedy's Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Emily Gielnik's Aston Villa.

Kennedy made her second consecutive WSL start for Gareth Taylor's side and it was the hosts that opened the scoring, with Deyna Castellanos finding the back of the net in the 28th minute.

Villa found the equaliser just three minutes later through Kirsty Hanson, with the Scottish forward netting her second of the WSL season.

Hanson had another chance to double her tally and give Villa the lead, with her attempt hitting the bar and eventually cleared away by Kennedy.

Raso came off the bench in the 73rd minute but couldn't help City seal the win. Gielnik and Fowler remained on the bench in the draw.

Meanwhile, Sam Kerr's Chelsea was able to kick off their game against Liverpool, however, after just six minutes the game was abandoned due to a frozen pitch.

"You could see from the opening minutes that it was like an ice rink down the sides," Chelsea coach Emma Hayes told BBC Sport after the game was stopped.

Clare Wheeler's Everton recorded their sixth win of the season with a 3-0 victory over Mackenzie Arnold's West Ham United. Both Aussies made the start for their respective clubs and it was the Toffees that got off on the front foot early.

Early goals to Karen Holmgaard and Megan Finnigan saw Everton take a 2-0 lead going into the break.

The hosts added a third in the second half to take all three points and keep their spot in fifth place.

Kyah Simon's Spurs game was postponed throughout the week as they were set to host Remy Siemsen's Leicester City, with a frozen pitch the culprit.

Meanwhile, newly signed Lydia Williams will have to wait to make her debut for Brighton & Hove Albion for another week after their game against her former side in Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord's Arsenal was also postponed due to a frozen pitch, with the game set to be played at a later date.

France

Our final stop takes us to France, where Ellie Carpenter's Lyon recorded a 2-0 win over Montpellier HSC.

Goals to Eugénie Le Sommer and Sara Däbritz in the second half gave Lyon their 13th win of the season and saw them move to 1st place on the ladder as PSG recorded a draw over the weekend.  give Sonia Bompastor's side a defensive boost.
