UWCL

Chelsea will hope to hold on to their one-goal advantage as they take on Spanish giants Barcelona on Sunday, 2.30am AEST. If they can do so they will contest the second final in their history – the last time, in 2021, it was Barcelona who lifted the trophy.

Much has been spoken about the desire for Chelsea players to see off long-time influential manager Emma Hayes with a UEFA Women’s Champions League victory. They have a golden opportunity to put themselves in the final at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Lyon will travel to Paris in the hopes of continuing their momentum from their first-leg victory against PSG on Monday, 12am AEST. Ellie Carpenter’s side lead the tie 3-2 after coming back from two goals down late in the match.

The French giants are searching for an opportunity to win their ninth UEFA Women’s Champions League – more than double the next-best team in the competition’s history. For PSG’s part, who will likely be without Clare Hunt who has been unavailable due to injury, they will be looking to make their third-ever final, they have never won the competition.

England

Everton face a tough test to start the round in the FA WSL, taking on Arsenal on Sunday, 9.30pm AEST. The Gunners have a slim chance of catching Manchester City and Chelsea at the top of the table while Everton is safe from relegation. Clare Wheeler will likely line up for the Toffees while the Arsenal trio of Caitlin Foord, Steph Catley and Kyra Cooney-Cross will hope for the three points to keep them in the title race.

Tottenham Hotspur hosts Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, 11pm AEST. Charli Grant’s side remains within striking distance of Liverpool and Manchester United in fourth and fifth and will be hoping to finish a relatively successful season within striking distance of the sides. Grant is likely to start from the bench for the Spurs while Charlie Rule has been unavailable for the Seagulls through injury.

At the same time on Sunday, 11pm AEST, West Ham will hope to bounce back from a crushing defeat last week when they take on Aston Villa. A win for the Hammers will see them officially clear of relegation regardless of Bristol City’s result, but they will be looking to finish the season on a high after a disappointing campaign. Mackenzie Arnold will likely start in goals while Katrina Gorry has been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.

Leicester City will take on Manchester United on Monday, 12am AEST. United are well and truly out of the contest for the top three but will hope to cement themselves as the ‘best of the rest’ and secure fourth place. Remy Siemsen will likely be available off the bench for the Foxes, while it is unclear if Courtney Nevin will return from injury.

Finally, Bristol City face the last chance saloon as they host the red-hot Manchester City on Monday, 3.45am AEST. If West Ham fail to beat Aston Villa, Bristol have a very slim chance of avoiding relegation – but they will have to win every game remaining, starting with this one. The likes of Mary Fowler and Alanna Kennedy stand in their way, part of a Manchester City team gunning for the title in stunning form. The team in Sky Blue will be overwhelming favourites – but anything can happen, especially as Gareth Taylor's side looks to be without their top goalscorer, Khadija Shaw, for the rest of the season after the striker sustained an injury in their last game.

Sweden

Kristianstads DFF faces a tough assignment bouncing back after last week’s loss, taking on the 2023 Champions Hammarby on Saturday, 11pm AEST. Amy Sayer will hope to continue her goal-scoring form from last week while Clare Polkinghorne is also likely to start.

Meanwhile, BK Häcken host Piteå at the same time on Saturday, 11pm AEST. The two teams have had similar starts to the season, both sitting on four points with a goal difference of one, and Häcken will be hoping to assert themselves on the season with a victory. Aivi Luik is likely to be unavailable through injury.

United States

The San Diego Wave take on Bay FC on Sunday, 12pm AEST. The Wave have had a mixed start to their season, picking up a win, a draw and two losses from their first four games, and will be looking to turn it around this weekend. Emily van Egmond is a likely starter in midfield while Kaitlyn Torpey has been picking up regular minutes from the bench.

Spain

Real Madrid will face Levante Las Planas on Monday, 2am AEST. Levante is no easybeats – scoring two goals on Barcelona in their meet-up earlier in the week and will be hoping to secure three points against Madrid in order to challenge for a top-three place. Hayley Raso will likely be available from the bench for this fixture.

Denmark

Winonah Heatley’s Nordsjælland takes on Næstved HG in the semi-final of the Danish Cup on Saturday, 11pm AEST. It is the first of two legs as Heatley’s side contest for trophies on two fronts. Heatley has been a regular starter for the side and will likely line up in the Starting XI on the weekend.
