FA Cup

The Women’s FA Cup semi-finals take place this weekend.

On Sunday, 9pm AEST, Tottenham Hotspur host Leicester City in what is a historic occasion for both teams - the winner will compete in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium for the first time. Charli Grant will line up for Spurs while Remy Siemsen will be available for the Foxes. It is unclear if Courtney Nevin will be available, after being forced out of the CommBank Matildas squad through injury.

Later that evening, at 11.35pm AEST, Chelsea take on Manchester United for a chance to reach the final and defend their FA Cup title. They will of course be without Sam Kerr, who has scored in all of the past three finals – a huge blow to their hopes. However, Emma Hayes’ side will still go into the match as favourites against a United who have performed below expectations in the league this season.

Arsenal will host Bristol City on Monday, 3.45am AEST. A win would see them three points behind Chelsea in second, and six behind Manchester City in first. Bristol, meanwhile, are running out of time to secure the points they need to avoid relegation. Steph Catley, Kyra Cooney-Cross and Caitlin Foord are on track to line up for the Gunners.

France

Paris FC take on Reims on Saturday, 5am AEST. While it will be far from straightforward – it is third v fourth on the table – they are largely playing for pride, with third place secure and PSG eight points clear in second. Sarah Hunter will be hoping to secure a place in the matchday squad as the season winds down.

PSG travel to Guingamp on Saturday, 10pm AEST knowing that they need a win to have any chance of staying in the race to finish first. They are heavy favourites – Guingamp have only picked up 15 points from 19 games – but they know that they have to get the job done. Clare Hunt will be unavailable due to injury.

Lyon has a chance to seal the top place on Monday as they take on Saint-Étienne on Monday, 5am AEST. A win would see them maintain an unassailable seven-point lead with two games to go. Given they are undefeated and have only dropped points once, it’s difficult to bet against them. Ellie Carpenter will be available for the match.

Sweden

The Damallsvenskan kicks off this weekend.

BK Häcken will hope to get their campaign off with a win after the heartbreak of falling short last season. They take on Norrköping on Saturday, 11pm AEST. Aivi Luik will be unavailable due to the injury that ruled her out of the CommBank Matildas squad.

Kristianstads DFF will travel to take on newly promoted AIK Fotboll on Sunday, 9pm AEST. The away side finished midtable in the top flight last season and will be hoping to make a statement of intent in round one. Amy Sayer and Clare Polkinghorne will be available for Kristianstads.

United States

San Diego Wave takes on Racing Louisville on Sunday, 9.30am AEDT. They have had a mixed start to the season and will be hoping to carry the momentum of Emily van Egmond’s stoppage-time winner last game into this weekend. Van Egmond and Kaitlyn Torpey will be available for Casey Stoney’s side.
