Roar look to get off the mark against Wanderers
Brisbane Roar's Westfield Matildas cohort of Clare Polkinghorne, Katrina Gorry, Hayley Raso, Tameka Yallop and Mackenzie Arnold are out to respond to Round 2's first-up defeat to Melbourne Victory when Western Sydney Wanderers come calling on Thursday night, 7.30pm AEDT.
Gorry and Raso combined to great effect for Yallop to fire in her 50th Brisbane goal during that defeat, while Westfield Young Matilda Indiah-Paige Riley was also on the scoresheet.
Meanwhile, Amy Harrison and Kyra-Cooney Cross have been in impressive during the Wanderers' perfect start, with Harrison's match-winning penalty accounting for their 1-0 win over Newcastle Jets last Friday.

Roestbakken and Simon to duel
Newcastle Jets' clash with Canberra United this Saturday at 4.30pm AEDT is shaping up to be a duel between Westfield Matildas defender Karly Roestbakken and Jets attacker Gema Simon.
Roestbakken's Canberra were pipped at home in agonising fashion by Melbourne City last time out and will be looking to return to the winner's circle in the Hunter.
Simon, meanwhile, will be looking to inspire the Jets to their first win of the campaign having fallen to the Wanderers in Round 2.

Checker faces Adelaide
Melbourne City defender Emma Checker comes up against Adelaide United for the first time since she signed for the three-time Champions in the off-season.
Checker – alongside fellow Westfield Matildas Lydia Williams, Steph Catley, Ellie Carpenter, Aivi Luik, Kyah Simon and Emily van Egmond – will be looking to build on their 2-1 victory over Canberra United in Round 2.
They won't have it easy against an Adelaide team who have impressed despite back-to-back defeats to Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC.
Sarah Willacy has picked up from where she left off during 2018/19 in goals, while Mary Fowler has posed a real danger to opposition defences.
This one commences at 7.00pm AEDT on Saturday night.

Sydney out to continue perfect start
Wins over Melbourne Victory and Adelaide have given Sydney FC the ideal start to their Championship defence but they'll get a big test of their mettle in the Grand Final rematch against Perth Glory this Sunday at 4.00pm AEDT.
