The Westfield Matildas are set to get an early taste of the incredible atmosphere of a FIFA Women’s World Cup in Sunday morning’s (AEST) friendly against the Netherlands.

More than 25,000 tickets have been sold for the clash at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven, with hopes high that the 35,000-capacity venue will sell out.

How to watch the FIFA Women's World Cup

Australia’s status as one of the contenders for the FIFA Women’s World Cup has caught the attention of the Dutch fans, who are clamouring to get a seat at the vital pre-tournament hit-out.

Westfield Matildas attacker Hayley Raso says the clash with the Oranjevrouwen is the perfect game for the side ahead of their opening World Cup-clash against Italy on June 9.

“We are really excited [about the Netherlands friendly]. It’s coming up quick now,” Raso told www.matildas.com.au.

“It is also good playing against crowds who are maybe more so cheering for the other team.
