City's time in last season's UWCL was cut short when Real Madrid knocked them out in Round 2, with the Spanish side winning 2-1 on aggregate.

Gareth Taylor's team qualified for this year's UWCL competition following a third-place finish in the WSL, with Aussie duo Alanna Kennedy and Hayley Raso helping City qualify for another UWCL season.

Meanwhile, Clare Wheeler, Angie Beard and Indi-Paige Riley's Fortuna Hjørring will play Eintracht Frankfurt, who won four titles under their previous name FFC Frankfurt.

Fortuna makes their much-anticipated return to the UWCL, after missing out on last season's competition. Hjørring will have a new head coach leading them through the competition, with Martin Møller Kristensen making his international coaching debut.

Hjørring and Eintracht Frankfurt have never played one another before in the UWCL, with the winner of this tie set to face either Kristianstads DFF or AFC Ajax in the Round One final for a place in the next stage.

These matches will be played in a mini-tournament style. The winners of this mini-tournament would then need to get through a two-legged Round Two tie in order to qualify for the 16-team group stage.
