Teagan Micah links up with Melbourne City

Westfield Matildas goalkeeper Teagan Micah is back for the Westfield W-League 2020/21 Season, signing a deal with Melbourne City FC.

Micah joins the defending W-League Champions after a stint abroad in Norway with Arna-Bjornar, where she made 12 appearances before injury cut her season short.

The 23-year-old has some Westfield W-League experience, having made her debut for the Western Sydney Wanderers in 2015 before moving to the United States to attend college at UCLA.

Adding to her international experience with the Westfield Junior & Young Matildas, as well as camps with the senior team, Micah is a solid addition to the City squad.

“One of the things I am most looking forward to is having access to such great facilities and quality staff," Micah told melbournecityfc.com.au.

“When you are playing weekly you start to realize areas that you want to improve on and start to fine tune your game, for me I was able to identify those areas (in Norway) and that will be my goal for the next 3-6 months, to absolutely hammer those areas and make them the best part of my game.”

Melbourne City FC Director of Football Michael Petrillo said: “We are delighted to welcome Teagan to the club, she is a future number one Matildas goalkeeper."

“In the current Matildas set up she is number three, but with her age and the fact that she has just left the USA college system I believe that she has got a bright future at international level.”

“She is very mature for her age and will fit perfectly into our playing style,” Petrillo said, “Teagan is strong in protecting the air, possesses a good passing range and is good with dealing with through balls into the penalty area.”
