Tameka and Kirsty Yallop announce birth of daughter, Harley Rose

Westfield Matildas midfielder Tameka Yallop and her wife Kirsty have shared the arrival of their daughter, Harley Rose, on social media.  

Harley was born on 21 August 2020 at 7.32pm, weighing 2.59kgs and 47cm.

The couple announced they were expecting in March this year, with Harley arriving a couple of weeks before her September due date.  


Yallop, 29, is married to former midfielder for the New Zealand Football Ferns, Kirsty. With the arrival of her first child, she joins the list of Westfield Matildas to become a mother while an active player.  

"I know I had some time to prepare myself to be a mama but it’s already been a week with our baby girl, Harley Rose Yallop, and I still can’t believe how perfect she is," said Yallop on Instagram. 

"Words can’t explain how much we love our gorgeous girl who decided to come a little early on Friday, 21st August, weighing 2.59kgs & 47cm."

"Our little bubba had low glucose and needed to be fattened up before we could leave hospital but we are finally home!"

Others include Michelle Sawyers, Shelley Youman, former Westfield Matildas captain Melissa Barbieri and centurion Heather Garriock. 

Yallop's national teammates showed their delight at the arrival of the latest member of the Westfield Matildas family. 

 

"I'm obsessed," said Mackenzie Arnold. 

While an excited Caitlin Foord "can’t wait to meet her!" and Steph Catley replied "she is perfect."
