Signing news: Kyah Simon will return to Melbourne City in 2019/20

Kyah Simon is the latest Westfield Matilda to commit to Melbourne City for the Westfield W-League 2019/20 Season.

The 87-cap attacker, currently starring for Houston Dash in the National Women's Soccer League, was one of five signings announced by the Victorian club on Thursday.

The 28-year-old will link up with Westfield Matildas teammates Emma Checker and Emily van Egmond at City, the latter of whom announced her switch from Newcastle Jets last month.

Simon featured in 18 Westfield W-League matches for City over the past two campaigns, and helped them lift the 2017/18 Championship, following seven seasons at Sydney FC.

“We’ve secured an important group of core players that have played an influential role for this club over recent season,” City head coach Rado Vidosic.

“It’s an exciting time for the club, we have a good mix of experienced internationals, as well as a bunch of up-and-coming talents that are not only the future of the sport and our club, but also have the ability to play an important role for us this season.”
