Sam Kerr named in the PFA WSL Team of the Year 2022/23

Sam Kerr's impressive year for Chelsea saw her make the PFA Women's Super League (WSL) Team of the Year for a third consecutive season.

The Professional Footballers’ Association has released their annual WSL Team of the Year overnight at their ceremony in London, with Kerr named in the team for a third consecutive season. 

Manchester United's Mary Earps was named in goals alongside teammate Maya Le Tissier and former Red Ona Batlle. The other side of Manchester also saw three players named to the team with defender Alex Greenwood named to the team alongside Yui Hasegawa and striker Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw. 

Chelsea claimed the WSL title for a fourth consecutive season, with Australian Sam Kerr named in the PFA Team of the Year after scoring 12 goals in the league, she was named alongside Guro Reiten, with the Norwegian international a league-high 11 assists.

Arsenal saw two players make the team, with midfielder Frida Maanum and former Gunner Rafaelle Souza making the list. 

Rachel Daly rounds out the list, claiming the Golden Boot for the WSL in the 2022/23 season, also named the PFA Players' Player of the Year, the award Kerr claimed for the first time last season.
