Sam Kerr named in 2022 FIFA FIFPRO Women’s World 11

Sam Kerr has been named in the FIFA FIFPro’s Women’s World XI for the very first time, with the Australian being named to the list during The Best FIFA Football Awards™ this morning.

The striker makes the list for the first time, after being named in the 23-player shortlist in both the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

The award, the only global player award organized by the players and for the players, is based on their performances during the period 7 August 2021 to 31 July 2022 inclusive.

Kerr makes the Women's World XI for the very first time this year, in a season that saw her break the all-time scoring record for Australia at the start of 2022 during the AFC Women's Asian Cup. 

The Blues' forward helped her side to back-to-back Women's FA Cup titles, as well as seeing Chelsea claim a third consecutive Women's Super League title. The forward picked up the golden boot for the second consecutive season in England, scoring 20 goals for the number 20.
