Sam Kerr to feature on cover of FIFA 23!

CommBank Matildas captain Sam Kerr will be the FIRST female Global Cover Star for Ultimate Edition AND the ANZ Standard Edition cover star when FIFA 23 launches later this year.

In a first for the franchise, Kerr will be the first female to grace the cover of a global version as well as the AUS/NZ Standard Edition of the popular game.

Kerr joins Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappé on the cover of FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition, which was revealed earlier today. The Australian captain is not the first woman on a FIFA edition, with Steph Catley on the cover of the Australian version of FIFA16, Alex Morgan and Christine Sinclair also gracing the cover of the game in the USA and Canada, respectively.

The Australian striker will be the first female to adorn the front cover of the global edition. The milestone comes off the back of a record-breaking year with the national team, becoming the all-time top goalscorer for Australia earlier this year when she surpassed Tim Cahill's previous record of 50 goals in green and gold.

The full cover reveal for FIFA23 will be officially revealed later this week. The game’s release date is as yet to be announced but is expected to be late September.
