Waltzing Matilda: Show your support for Australia's 2023 World Cup bid

It’s a song synonymous with Australia and the Matildas are calling on all Australians to belt out the iconic ‘Waltzing Matilda’ to help the country's bid to host the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023TM.

Matildas stars want the nation to #GetOnside for the bid and fans can play their part during the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

To show the level of support for bringing the showcase event to Australian shores in 2023, fans are being asked to sing Waltzing Matilda at the 20min, 23sec mark of each game.

Whether you’re watching from inside the stadium or in the comfort of your loungeroom, film yourself doing your best Waltzing Matilda rendition and post it to social media with the hashtag #GetOnside.

The Matildas begin their FIFA Women’s World Cup campaign this Sunday, June 9, against Italy in Valenciennes, France.

They will also take on Brazil (June 14 AEST) and Jamaica (June 19 AEST) in the group stage.

The FIFA Women's World Cup 2023TM would see 24 teams compete over 52 matches, hosted across a number of locations around the country.

Australians are encouraged to #GetOnside and show their support for the bid at AusBid2023.com.
