Matildas Abroad Review: Kerr nets hat trick, all three Aussies feature for Gunners, Carpenter shines for OL

Ellie Carpenter continued her stellar start to in France, Sam Kerr  bagged a first hat trick or Chelsea, Steph Catley returned to the pitch after a three month layoff as play returned following the international break.

England

Kerr scored a hat trick for Chelsea as they overcame Mackenzie Arnold and Emily Van Egmond’s West Ham 3-2.

Arsenal and Westfield Matildas trio Lydia Williams, Caitlin Foord and Steph Catley all featured for the Gunners with Foord opening the scoring in their 3-0 win over Birmingham City. Williams and Foord both started while Catley returned from a three month injury in the 68th minute. 

Alanna Kennedy started and played 85 minutes for Tottenham Hotspur as they recorded their first win of the season against Brighton, coming out on top 3-2.

Elsewhere, Hayley Raso lasted 78 minutes for Everton as they were outdone 3-0 against Manchester City.

France

Ellie Carpenter put in a Player of the Match performance for Lyon as they registered a 3-1 win against Le Havre.

Mary Fowler played 60 minutes for Montpellier as they triumphed 3-1 at home to Issy and retained fourth place on the table.

Spain

Aivi Luik put in a full shift for Sevilla as they went down 5-2 to Real Madrid

Alex Chidiac was an unused substitute as Atlético Madrid drew 3-3 with Athletic Club as they drop to third in the Primera Iberdrola.

Norway

Clare Polkinghorne played the full game for Avaldsnes as they fell to a 4-0 defeat in the final round of the Toppserien. Her side finish the campaign in a respectable third place.

Karly Roestbakken was an unused substitute for LSK Kvinner as they were edged out 1-0 against Lyn. LSK finish the season in fifth.
