World Cup breakout star Kyra Cooney-Cross will be looking to make her debut for Arsenal as the WSL gets back underway this weekend.

It is an action-packed first day of fixtures in the 2023/24 WSL season.
Clare Wheeler’s Everton will take on Brighton & Hove Albion at home on Sunday at 11pm AEDT. After making 17 appearances last season, the 25-year-old will be hoping to help her side to an improvement on their sixth-placed finish last season.
Leicester City kick off their season away to newly promoted Bristol City on Monday at 12am AEDT. Courtney Nevin will be a big part of a team seeking a more comfortable campaign this time around, after being in a relegation battle for most of 2022/23. Remy Siemsen is unfortunately set to miss the first few weeks of the season with an ankle injury.
Meanwhile, Kyra Cooney-Cross will be hoping to make her debut alongside fellow CommBank Matildas Steph Catley and Caitlin Foord as Arsenal take on Liverpool in front of a potentially record-breaking crowd of over 50,000 at the Emirates. Looking to stop the Gunners could be goalkeeper Teagan Micah, who signed for the away side over the summer and will be looking to make her WSL debut. This game also kicks off on Monday at 12am AEDT.
It is another Aussie showdown on Monday at 1am AEDT as Mackenzie Arnold’s West Ham host Mary Fowler and Alanna Kennedy’s Manchester City. All three players had notable FIFA Women’s World Cup campaigns and will be looking to build on that form in their domestic seasons.
Finally, Sam Kerr’s Chelsea hosts Tottenham Hotspur on Monday at 3.30am AEDT. They have been almost untouchable in the past few seasons – will anyone stop them this time around?

Amy Sayer’s Kristianstads DFF will play relegation-threatened IF Brommapojkarna on Sunday at 10pm AEDT. Sayer has played three games for the club since signing in August.
Vittsjö GIK faces a crucial test against Linköping on Monday at 12am AEDT. Katrina Gorry, Charli Grant and Clare Polkinghorne will be hoping to seal a crucial win to put them only three points away from European qualification with five games to go.
Finally, Aivi Luik’s BK Häcken will host Norrköping on Tuesday at 4am AEDT. Depending on other results, a win could see them reach first place on the ladder.
France
Clare Hunt and Ellie Carpenter could face off in France for the first time on Monday at 6am AEDT as PSG hosts Lyon in the second round of Division 1 Féminine. Carpenter started round one for Lyon while Hunt will be hoping to appear in her first matchday squad for her new club.
Spain
Hayley Raso will be hoping to build on her debut off the bench last round as Real Madrid travel to take on Granadilla Tenerife on Sunday at 9pm AEDT. A win will keep them at pace with clubs like Atletico Madrid and the powerhouse that is Barcelona.

A top-of-the-table clash awaits Emily van Egmond as her second-place San Diego Wave travels to Portland to take on the Portland Thorns on Sunday 1.30pm AEDT. A win would put them in the box seat with only one game to go to clinch the top spot on the ladder.

Alex Chidiac’s Tigres UANL will play midtable UNAM on Tuesday 12pm AEDT. They are currently on top of the table by one point and will need to maintain their near-perfect record to stay ahead of Club América in second. Chidiac will be hoping for her first start after two substitute appearances in her Tigres career so far.
