Matildas Abroad Preview: Conti Cup semi-finals kick off for Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham and Manchester City

A spot in the Conti Cup final is up for grabs when Arsenal host reigning champions Manchester City and West Ham takes on Chelsea.

The first of the semi-final fixtures start on Thursday morning (AEDT) with Caitlin Foord and Steph Catley's Arsenal hosting Mary Fowler, Hayley Raso and Alanna Kennedy's reigning champions Manchester City.

Manchester will be looking to book their spot in back-to-back Conti Cup finals and retain the trophy when they face Arsenal. City comes into the game off the back of a 16-game unbeaten run in all competitions.

City booked their spot in the semi-finals after a 6-0 win over Bristol City, with Fowler and Raso finding the back of the net in the victory. While the Gunners secured their spot in the final four with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa, with Foord scoring in that game.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie Arnold's West Ham United will host Sam Kerr's Chelsea, with the Blues looking to book their spot in their fourth consecutive FA Women's League Cup final.

Arnold was the star of the show on the weekend as the Hammers held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw, picking up a point against the Gunners for the first time in WSL history.

Chelsea will be looking to go one better than their Conti Cup runners-up medal this year, looking to claim the trophy for the third time. Kerr scored during the final last season, netting the Blues' lone goal in the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City. 

West Ham booked their spot in the semi-finals after a 1-0 win over Liverpool, meanwhile, Chelsea defeated Spurs 3-1, with Kerr scoring, to advance to the final four.
