Matildas Abroad: KNVB Cup sealed with a kiss

It was another big weekend for the Westfield Matildas abroad with Kyah Simon and Amy Harrison securing silverware with PSV in the Netherlands.

Here's a wrap of all the action. 

Matildas June Friendlies

France

Lyon enjoyed an 8-0 win over Fleury but ultimately finished second in the league. Ellie Carpenter was an unused sub. Laura Brock's Guingamp defeated Bordeaux 4-2. Mary Fowler played the opening half in Montpellier's 2-0 loss to Paris FC.

Sweden

Emily Gielnik and Clare Polkinghorne ran out full games in Vittsjö's 1-0 win over Växjö. Charlotte Grant's FC Rosengård played out a scoreless draw with Kristianstads. Grant didn't feature in the squad. 

Netherlands

Amy Harrison and Kyah Simon ended their seasons on a high, taking home the KNVB Cup. PSV defeated Den Haag 1-0. Although neither Aussie took to the park, Harrison featured in the quarter and semi final victories. 

Rest of the World 

Teagan Micah's IL Sandviken recorded a 2-1 win over Stabæk. Micah once again donned the gloves as the team continued its unbeaten start to the season. Aivi Luik's Sevilla enjoyed a 2-0 victory over Real Betis in La Liga Iberdrola. 


Beattie Goad played the second half as her SV Meppen side lost 5-0 to Freiburg. The club has been relegated to the second division in Germany.
