Matildas Abroad: Arsenal aims to extend their unbeaten run; Chelsea set for sold-out game

With the final international break over for 2022, it's back to clubland for our Matildas Abroad. Arsenal is aiming to extend its unbeaten streak; while Chelsea host Spurs at a sold-out derby at Stamford Bridge.

England

Kicking off in Liverpool, Clare Wheeler's Everton host Mary Fowler, Hayley Raso and Alanna Kennedy's Manchester City as the visitors aim to make it five consecutive wins, while the Toffees are looking to bounce back from defeat. 


Everton has had a longer than expected hitaus, with their last game before the international break postponed due to wet weather. While City picked up a 3-0 win before the break, with Fowler picking up her first assist. 

This game will kick off on Sunday morning at 2:00 am AEDT.

Meanwhile, Caitlin Foord and Steph Catley's Arsenal will be looking to extend their unbeaten run this season to seven games and stay at the top of the table when they host Manchester United.


United faced their first defeat of the season and was knocked off the top spot in a 3-1 loss to Chelsea before the break, while Foord and Catley found the back of the net in the Gunners' last WSL outing, helping them beat Leicester City 4-0. 

This game will kick off on Sunday morning at 4:30 am AEDT.

Sam Kerr's Chelsea will host a blockbuster game as they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to a sold-out derby at Stamford Bridge. 


Kerr picked up a goal and an assist for the Blues in their 3-1 victory over Manchester United before the break, with Chelsea welcoming back head coach Emma Hayes for this game.

 This game will kick off on Monday morning at 12:00 am AEDT.

Emily Gielnik's Aston Villa will host Reading FC, who only have one win to start the season. The Aussie has been out with a calf injury sustained on international duty, however, head coach Carla Ward hinted at a return for the forward.

Lastly, Mackenzie Arnold's West Ham United will host last place Leicester City, who haven't recorded a win so far this season. 

The Hammers will be looking to bounce back from a 5-4 defeat to Brighton, with Arnold not appearing in the matchday squad due to injury. This game will kick off on Monday morning at 2:00 am AEDT.

France

Over in Bordeaux, Lydia Williams' Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to get back to winning ways after a 2-2 draw before the international break when they take on 7th place Bordeaux. 

PSG remains just two points behind Lyon on the ladder, sitting in second place. This game will kick off on Monday morning at 12:00 am AEDT.

Denmark

Our last stop takes us to Denmark, where our newly capped Matilda, Matilda McNamara's AGF will host Sundby. AGF will be aiming to record just their third win of the season, sitting in second to last place and taking on last place Sundby in this encounter.
