Mary Fowler has been included in the shortlist of candidates for the European Golden Girl award, the first time this award will be presented.
The Golden Girl award is a recognition of the best young talent in Europe during a calendar year, with this year marking the first time it will be given.
Fowler's inclusion on the shortlist of candidates for the award comes off the back of a move to Manchester City in the WSL, signing a four-year deal with the club.
The Australian is nominated alongside fourteen other emerging talents, with the list of shortlisted candidates as follows:

On the 15th of October, this shortlist will be cut down to 10 players who will contest the award, with a jury deciding on the final ten players. Like the Golden Boy, this award will be voted on by 40 journalists specialising in foreign football from the most prestigious European newspapers.
