Mackenzie Arnold & Kyra Cooney-Cross up for London Football Awards

Mackenzie Arnold and Kyra Cooney-Cross have been nominated for the London Football Awards for the 2024 edition of the award ceremony.

Arnold received her second nomination, previously being nominated for the FA Women's Super League Player of the Year Award in 2022. The West Ham United is now nominated for the Goalkeeper of the Year, nominated beside four Premier League players.

The nomination comes off the back of a breakout FIFA Women's World Cup campaign for the shot-stopper, as well as being named captain for the London-based side.

Arnold is nominated alongside fellow Hammer Alphonse Areola, Fulham's Bernd Leno, Spurs' Guglielmo Vicario and Palace's Sam Johnstone.

Cooney-Cross received her first nomination at the London Football Awards, receiving a nomination for the Women's Young Player of the Year. The nomination comes after the midfielder made the move to Arsenal following an impressive FIFA Women's World Cup campaign.

The Arsenal midfielder has already made a splash at her new side, named Player of the Month for the Gunners in November. Cooney-Cross is nominated alongside Chelsea's Aggie Beever-Jones and Spurs' Grace Clinton.

The London Football Awards will be presented at an award ceremony on February 29th (March 1st 5:30am AEDT) at the Roundhouse in London.
