On field memories, puppies and teammate roasts: Caitlin Foord and Lindsey Horan answered your fan questions

On the date Caitlin Foord and Lindsey Horan were set to face each other on the pitch, they instead teamed up for an entertaining Instagram Live - with a guest appearance from former club teammate Emily "Saucy" Sonnett.

For the fourth year in a row, the Westfield Matildas were set to match up against world champions the US Women's National Team.

Originally scheduled for 10 April 2020 in Salt Lake City, the global COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the fan favourite friendly being postponed for the time being.

Not being able to meet on the park didn't stop friends Caitlin Foord and Lindsey Horan meeting off the pitch, with the two number nines teaming up to keep fans entertained at home.

There were plenty of guest appearances on the Instagram Live chat including from current FIFA World Player of the Year Megan Rapinoe, their former Portland Thorns teammate Emily Sonnett and the best received cameo from Horan's new French Bulldog puppy, Sir Ferguson Horan.

The Instagram Live ccovered a wide range of topics following the submission of fan questions.

From how Foord and Horan are coping with the unexpected downtime, how it feels to play against each other, the best/worst dressed players on their national teams, to the pride in representing their country on the world stage and an invitation for Horan to visit Australia and New Zealand for a potential FIFA Women's World Cup in 2023.

Earlier in the day, their national teammates Sam Kerr and Alyssa Naeher also took the opportunity to have a catch up with an Instagram Live chat on their own personal accounts.

The former Red Stars teammates also answered fan questions including about their FIFA Women's World 2019 memories, Westfield Matildas and USWNT encounters of the past and what is keeping them entertained during lockdown.
