Carpenter was ranked third, pipped only by VfL Wolfsburg's Lena Oberdorf and Lyon team mate Catarina Macario.

In the 2020-21 season, Carpenter has played 17 times in the French Division 1 Feminine and made five appearances in the UEFA Women's Champions League.

The 21-year-old has slotted right into the back four, assuming the position left by Lucy Bronze.

The right back is lauded as "energetic" and "athletic" with her pace down the flank an undeniable weapon.

While being strong on the ball as a defender, her pace and attacking mindset also allows her to be involved down the other end of the pitch.

With 42 caps to her name, as well as a goal, Carpenter has shown how crucial she is for both club and country.

Fowler, the fourth youngest player on the list, recently made her fifth and sixth appearances for the Westfield Matildas in the April friendlies against Germany and the Netherlands.

At club level, Fowler has been plying her trade for Montpellier also in France.

Praised for her attacking prowess, those skills have been on display with five goals and an assist in her 21 league appearances this season.
