Twelve nations - including our Commonwealth Bank Matildas - will take part in the 2022 tournament, an increase of four countries from previous editions.

There will be a total of three (3) groups of four (4) teams, with the first and second-place teams - as well as the two (2) best third-placed teams - in each group progressing to the Quarter Finals.

As hosts India will be placed in position A1, with Japan and Australia to be drawn into either B1 or C1 as the two top-seeded nations.

The second pot will consist of China PR, Thailand and Korea Republic, with the nations to make up the third and fourth pots still to be determined.

The other six spots in the tournament are made up of the Philippines, Vietnam, IR Iran and Indonesia, with two still TBC pending the remaining qualifiers.

The AFC Women’s Asian Cup also acts as qualifiers for the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™, with the top five (5) nations booking their spot. If Australia finishes in the top five, then the team ranked sixth will also qualify.

The draw will be available to watch live via YouTube.
