The CommBank Young Matildas wrap up their #AFCU20W qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Vietnam

The CommBank Young Matildas finished off their 2024 AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup Round 2 Qualifying campaign with a 2-0 win over Vietnam.

Daniela Galic went closest to opening the scoring, linking up with Emilia Murray on the left side and weaving around Vietnam's defence but put her shot just wide of the upright.

Skipper Jessika Nash was the next to threaten the goal with an attempt, sending in a deep cross that the keeper was unable to hold on to but did enough to put the ball out for a corner.

As the halftime break approached, Leah Blayney opted for her first change of the game, bringing on Jynaya Dos Santos to replace Claudia Cicco in the front three.

Dos Santos was straight into the action, picking up the ball from just inside the box and forcing a save from the keeper to keep the game scoreless.

Galic had another chance on goal to put Australia up before the break, with her chance from close range smothered by the keeper to send the teams into the break locked at 0-0.

Murphy doubled her tally for the night not long after, putting Australia up 2-0 with another long-range attempt that beat the keeper.

Blayney made her second change of the night, with Ella O'Grady coming off and Kahli Johnson replacing her. The front three had another change with Sasha Grove coming on to replace Emilia Murray with 20 minutes to go.
