CommBank Matildas Squad Update: Siemsen called up

Emily van Egmond and Holly McNamara have been medically withdrawn from the CommBank Matildas squad for the April FIFA Women’s International Window.

Both Van Egmond and McNamara will return to their clubs, San Diego Wave FC and Melbourne City FC, respectively.

Leicester City forward Remy Siemsen has been called up as a replacement for McNamara with the 23-year-old joining the squad on Sunday morning.  Siemsen has represented the CommBank Matildas on six occasions having made her debut in 2021.

No player will be called up to replace Van Egmond and the 23-player squad will continue their preparations in Surrey for Tuesday’s clash with the Lionesses.

Australia will meet the European and Women’s Finalissima champions, England, on 11 April (7.45 pm BST) at Gtech Community Stadium in London.
