CommBank Matildas complete October schedule against Switzerland

Australia will open their October FIFA Women’s International Window against UEFA Women's Euro 2025 hosts, Switzerland, at Stadion Letzigrund in Zurich on Friday, 25 October 2024 (8.00pm CET).

The CommBank Matildas meeting with the Swiss – currently ranked number 25 in the latest FIFA World Rankings – will be followed by a clash with the current Paris 2024TM Olympics bronze medallists Germany on Monday, 28 October (6.10pm CET) to complete their European tour.

October’s encounter will mark the first meeting between the Australian and Swiss senior women’s national teams.

Football Australia CEO James Johnson said: “We are delighted to confirm a second European nation to round out our October schedule providing an important and exciting springboard into the next women’s international cycle.”

“Switzerland will be another unique opponent for the program, and they also understand the challenge of preparing to host a home continental championship. Their addition to a schedule that already contains world number four, Germany, demonstrates the calibre of opponents we can secure to assist the CommBank Matildas in laying the foundations for the next four years.

“We will be finishing the year with an exciting home schedule of matches announced for the November/December FIFA Women’s International Window,” concluded Johnson.
