Carpenter, Harrison and Simon selected for Trophée Féminin tournament

Lyon's Ellie Carpenter and PSV duo Amy Harrison and Kyah Simon will participate in the Trophée Féminin Veolia tournament after being named in their respective team's 23-player squads.  

Hosted by the European Champions, Lyon, the Trophée Féminin Veolia is a round robin pre-season tournament featuring Lyon, PSV, Montpellier and Juventus.

Each of the four teams will play two matches at Groupama Stadium, the site of the final of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2019.  


The three Westfield Matildas could meet first up as Lyon face up agsinst PSV in the opening match of the tournament. 


It will be the second pre-season hit out for Harrison and Simon who both featured in PSV's 2-0 win over RSC Anderlecht.  Simon opened her account for PSV in the second minute while Harrison lined up in the midfield.  


For Carpenter, this tournament could present the first sight of the defender in her new colours.  Since arriving in Lyon, Carpenter has been settling into her new home but has yet to see the pitch.  


The tournament is another part of PSV's preparations for the new season which commences on 6 September with PSV hosting Alkmaar.   

Meanwhile for Lyon, it continues the ground work for another tilt at the UEFA Women's Champions League.
