Carle makes move to Palace

English Championship side Crystal Palace has completed its move for Socceroos midfielder Nick Carle yesterday.

English Championship side Crystal Palace has completed its move for Socceroos midfielder Nick Carle yesterday.

Carle has signed a four-year deal with Palace, with former club Bristol City likely to receive a transfer fee in excess of the £500,000 they paid for the skilful midfielder from Turkish side Genclerbirligi in January this year.

Carle, who played a major role in knocking Palace out of the promotion play-off-s last season, is delighted with the move.

“I am very excited to be here,” he told the Palace official website http://www.cpfc.premiumtv.co.uk. “I do know quite a bit about the club after playing against them four times in the four, five months last season.

“I think all four games were great games and very close. The two teams were very level and on the day Bristol City got up, but we (Palace) will be looking to change that come this season."

Carle said his decision to move to Palace was made much easier after speaking with manager Neil Warnock.

“I think it-s a massive club with good ambitions and after speaking to Neil he made my decision much easier. He sounded like a real winner and that was very important to me.

“I am really looking forward to being part of it next season," he added.

The move is Carle-s third in a year since taking out the 2007 Joe Marston Medal for the Hyundai A-League Player of the Year, with each move seemingly a bigger step towards achieving his goal of playing in the English Premier League and ultimately becoming a regular starter for the national team.
