Caitlin Foord answers fans' Twitter questions

While the Australian players are busy training hard in a transition camp preparing for Tokyo, Caitlin Foord took a break to answer some fan questions over on Twitter.

Transition camp marks the longest amount of time the team will be together in well over a year and the reunion has been so special for Foord.

“It feels amazing to be back in the Matildas kit, it’s been so long. Obviously we had the games last FIFA window and this FIFA window but before that it had been a very long time since we’d been back together. So it feels amazing to be back and we’re together for a long time now so I guess we’re making up for all that time that we missed.”

While Foord has been able to reunite with her football family, due to the pandemic it has been a very long time since she has been able to see her actual family.

Naturally, they are what she misses most from home.

"Some things I’m missing from home are my family, of course. My dog is what I’m missing the most, Peach. It’s the longest I’ve been away from her and, of course, my family. Something else I’m missing is just being so close to the beach and the warm weather.”

Camp life has meant being reacquainted with the girls and having a bit of a fun as well. The team has been getting into some video games, although Foord admits she's not the best.

“Am I good at Crash? Not really, to be honest. I think by the end of it I’ll be better but I just haven’t played as many hours as all the other girls. But I give it a good shot and they like a laugh when someone’s bad so every now and then I’ll jump in and give it a go. But I definitely think I will improve.”
