Aussies Abroad: Yallop hits double figures in Norway, De Vanna’s Fiorentina make late comeback

Tameka Yallop fired her 10th goal of the Norwegian Toppserien 2019 season as Klepp rallied to beat Røa 4-1.

The 81-cap Westfield Matilda netted a double in last week’s 5-0 win against Stabaek and picked up where she left off at Røabanen Stadium in Oslo.

The visitors shot into a 41st-minute lead when Marie Hella Andresen broke the deadlock and Jamaica international Havana Solaun doubled the advantage 10 minutes after the interval.

Yallop, who has signed for Brisbane Roar for the Westfield W-League 2019/20, extended the lead to three in the 68th minute, before Andresen grabbed her second with 15 minutes remaining.

Synne Jensen notched a late consolation for the home side as Klepp claimed three points to climb to third in the ladder.

Aivi Luik’s Avaldsnes gave Klepp a helping hand by defeating the previous third-placed side, Sandviken, 3-2.

After a goalless first half, Nigerian Rasheedat Ajibade opened the scoring at Avaldsnes Idrettssenter before Camilla Ervik levelled the scores for the visitors.

Brazilian star Giovana put the home side 2-1 up and then doubled her tally on 86 minutes.

A stoppage-time goal from Trinidad and Tobago midfielder Kennya Cordner reduced the arrears but fifth-place Avaldsnes held out to clinch victory.

De Vanna’s Fiorentina deliver smash and grab raid in Italy

Lisa De Vanna and Fiorentina landed a dramatic late comeback to snatch a 2-1 win on the road against Sassuolo.

The match at Stadio Comunale Mirabello remained a stalemate through 80 minutes when Michela Cambiaghi made the break through for the hosts.

With the game slipping away, the Viola struck an 88th-minute equaliser when striker Tatiana Bonetti pounced.

And the result flipped on its head deep into stoppage time as Denmark international defender Janni Arnith-Jensen scored in the 93rd minute to raid the points.

Fiorentina are fourth in Women’s Serie A after four games, three points behind the leaders AC Milan.
