"Sevilla gives me the opportunity to play again in one of the best leagues in the world," she said on the club website.

Coming to Sevilla means the honour of playing for a club with a lot of history and it means playing with a team with the potential for a lot of success."

Luik is no stranger to European leagues having spent her career abroad in Denmark, Iceland, Sweden and Norway.  She is also no stranger to the Spanish league after playing the 2018–2019 season with Levante.

A five time Westfield W-League champion, Luik is looking to bring all her years of accumulated knowledge and composure to the benefit of her new side.

"This season I really want to bring experience and success to the team," she stated.

"I want to help encourage professionalism and hard work and a good winning mentality. I think those are really important to the success of the team."

Luik becomes the third Westfield Matildas player in the Primera División with Jenna McCormick last week signing with Real Betis and Alex Chidiac at Atletico Madrid.

The Spanish league kicks of its season on 5 September 2020.
