With over a decade with the Matildas, Mackenzie is looking towards her third FIFA Women’s World Cup. Making her W-League debut for Perth Glory as a teenager, Mackenzie has also represented Canberra United, Western Sydney Wanderers, and hometown club Brisbane Roar. Mackenzie has also achieved the accolade of W-League Goalkeeper of the Year three times: 2012–13, 2014, and 2017-18.

Breaking the dominance of then Matildas goalkeepers, Lydia Williams and Melissa Barbieri, Mackenzie made her debut for Australia in 2012 at the age of 18. Between her performances domestically and internationally, Mackenzie has continued to elevate her game by playing in Norway for Arna-Bjørnar, in the USA for the Chicago Red Stars, and more recently in England for West Ham United. Interestingly, Mackenzie has even made a short appearance in the midfield for West Ham! It isn’t until now that Mackenzie’s club form is translating to the international stage.

Currently, in fine form, Mackenzie has recently won the West Ham Player’s Player Award, as voted by her club teammates. She also won Player of the Tournament for the 2023 Cup of Nations held in Australia in February 2023, conceding only two goals and making nine key saves. Going into the World Cup, Mackenzie looks to be an asset to the Matildas' goalkeeper union.
