Aivi Luik has played in 10 countries and left a legacy behind her at the University of Nevada, Reno when she captained the team and scored the game-winning penalty that saw her Wolf Pack win the Western Athletic Conference for the first time.

Her debut for the Matildas came later than most, Luik was 24 in 2010 when she put on the green and gold for the first time. Later that year, she would travel to China with the Matildas and play part in their winning Asian Cup tournament.

Luik made her return to the international stage again at an Asian Cup, this time in Jordan in 2018, and since then has remained a consistent member of the squad, despite her attempt to retire from international football in 2021.

Luik has a wealth of experience as a player and is versatile to the point of being deployed for the Matildas both in the midfield and as a defender. Currently, she primarily plays in defence for her domestic club BK Häcken, in Sweden, where she comes up against a number of her Matildas teammates who also play in the Damallsvenskan.
