The Young Matilda-s have booked their spot in the AFF Aya Bank Women-s Championship semi-finals after claiming a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Thailand in Yangon, Myanmar.

The win was the third straight in the tournament for the Aussies who are lining up against senior national squads from throughout Asia withstanding Japan.

Two of Australia-s stars in the tournament so far in Hayley Raso and Chloe Logarzo combined to open the scoring as the Young Matildas attacked on the counter with Raso pulling it back for Logarzo to put her side in the lead on 27 minutes.

Amy Harrison took the score to 2-0 in the 41st minute when she put the ball past the Thai keeper from outside the box.

The Thai side got themselves back into the match before the half however as Wilaiporn Boothduang hit the ball low past Aussie keeper Mackenzie Arnold as the Australian's went into the sheds with a one goal advantage.

The Thais picked up where they left off at the start of the second half as they capitalised on some poor Australian defence which saw Taneekarn Dangda get the scores level once more.

After setting up Australia-s first goal, Raso got the winner in the 57th minute when she punished a poor Thai clearance to ensure her side remained undefeated.

Australia play their final group match against Vietnam on Tuesday September 17 at 4pm local time (8pm AEST).

If they do not lose the match against Vietnam then they will top Group A and play second in Group B, likely to be hosts Myanmar or Japan.
