Westfield Matildas: if you weren't a footballer?

A policewoman? A paramedic? We got some interesting responses when we put the question to some of the Westfield Matildas biggest stars.

See what the players would be doing if they weren’t ripping it up on the football pitch.

Kyah Simon

I love business, so something involving business. I always kind of wanted to be my own boss, so running my own company.

I’d like to have my own business to run, which I kind of do with my Kyah Simon Football Clinics that I have started and other bits and pieces.

That or something involved in another sport. I love my sport and I love my business, they are probably my two main hobbies.

If I was in another sport I would probably be in athletics. I used to be a high jumper, so something like that.

If it wasn’t a sport I would love to be a police officer. I'm really into the whole crime, law that kind of stuff ... obviously not committing them!

But I just find it really cool to be able help out in the community.

Hayley Raso

I would be a paramedic. I am studying to do that so that’s what I want to do when I'm not playing soccer. I have a year and a half left to go and a few placements. I will get there eventually.

Katrina Gorry

I would be a policewoman.

Since I was a kid growing up I always told my mum I was going to be a policewoman. She has always tried to talk me out of it, "it's just too dangerous".

Whenever I'm asked, it's something I'm really passionate about. I love problem-solving and investigating so I think that sums it up pretty well.

I think I would be playing some other sport. Growing up I just played anything that I could and loved being active. So I would probably play a different kind of sport.

Michelle Heyman

Hopefully being a role model, an advocate for the LBGTI community. I think I would love after football to jump into that industry and help out the community in those ways.

I try and do as much as I can now being in the public view so that’s definitely something I want to be a part of.
