Westfield Matildas in action: Westfield W-League Round 7

Another big schedule of fixtures looms for our Westfield Matildas as they aim to steer their Westfield W-League clubs to valuable points.

Here's how several national team stars will be involved this wekend.

LAURA ALLEWAY

The defender will hope to help Melbourne Victory to an important three points over rivals Adelaide United on Saturday.

And with Victory doubling the match as a celebration of their 10th season in the Westfield W-League, founding squad member Alleway will be especially eager to do her club proud.

LISA DE VANNA & AMY HARRISON

The Sky Blues duo get the chance to star on the big stage as they take on Wanderers in a Sydney Derby double header with the Hyundai A-League.

While De Vanna is no rookie when it comes to pressure-cooker environments, the ANZ Stadium encounter is the perfect opportunity for Harrison to further familiarise with the kind of expectation she will face for the Westfield Matildas.

ELLIE CARPENTER & MICHELLE HEYMAN v CITY STARS

Beaten 1-0 at home by Brisbane Roar last time out, Canberra need to make amends if they're to keep pace with the Queensland club.

That will be easier said than done away to Melbourne City, whose five Westfield Matildas will all be itching to make up for their unfortunate 1-1 draw with Adelaide United.

But in Ellie Carpenter and Michelle Heyman, the Green Machine boast two international-quality talents capable of impacting the game at either end of the pitch.

BUTT & GORRY v VAN EGMOND

This one is all about the midfield battle.

Tameka Butt scored the winner in Canberra last weekend from a Katrina Gorry assist and they'll be looking to continue their double act again on Sunday.

But it won't be easy going head-to-head with Australia teammate Emily van Egmond, who leads her Newcastle Jets to Brisbane in a bid for a fourth win of the season.
