UWCL Semi-Final Preview: Lyon one step away from the UWCL final

The second leg of the UWCL semi-finals kicks off early Sunday morning for Ellie Carpenter's Lyon, recording a 3-2 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg.

Lyon is just one step away from returning to the biggest international stage, missing out on last year's UWCL final for the first time in five years, with only their French rivals standing in their way of a trip back to the final. 

PSG led early in the first leg through Marie-Antointte Katoto, before a goal to Wendie Renard in her 100th UWCL appearance and a brace to Catarina Macario sealed the win for the seven time UWCL champions. 

Lyon will be looking to make a tenth appearance in the UWCL final, and lift the illustrious title for the eigth time. 

A record French women's club crowd of over 40,000 is anticipated, with a jam-packed Parc des Princes set to welcome the two French giants. 

FC Barcelona leads VFL Wolfsburg in the other semi-final tie 5-1, looking to make it back-to-back appearances in the UWCL final.
