Sam Kerr’s Chelsea missed the opportunity to qualify for the quarter finals, held to a 0-0 all draw with Juventus at Kingsmeadow Park.

After a 2-1-win last time they played one another, the Blues were hoping they could repeat the same dose against the Italian side.

Chelsea remain three points clear of both Juventus and Wolfsburg and their final group stage game against former UWCL champions Wolfsburg next week will be the decider.

The hosts had a plethora of chances in the first half; however, Juventus keeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin was able to keep the score at a deadlock.

Kerr had the ball in the back of the net early in the second half but was denied by the offside flag.

Sam Kerr against Juventus

A memorable night at Kingsmeadow for perhaps the wrong reasons, a pitch invader came on late in the game with a phone in his hand supposedly looking for a selfie. Kerr picked up a yellow card for pushing the pitch invader to the group while security struggled to catch the invader.

Emma Hayes praised her side’s turnaround after their Women’s FA Cup win on Monday morning.

“That was Sam Kerr’s third game in seven days. One was in Australia; one was at Wembley and one against Juventus.” Hayes said to chelseafc.com

Chelsea will now travel to Germany next week in a quest to qualify for the last eight, Chelsea must avoid defeat against Wolfsburg to qualify.

Group D

Ellie Carpenter's Lyon was looking to get back to winning ways after dropping their first points of the group stage against Bayern on matchday 4.

Lyon got the scoring underway quickly, with Ada Hegerberg finding her first of the game to put the visitors 1-0 up over Benfica.

Hegerberg was again on the scoresheet before the half was up, while Wendie Renard made her return to the side and found the back of the net.

Griedge Mbock Bathy and Signe Bruun rounded out the scoring to notch up five goals for Lyon to ensure the French side qualified first out of the group.

The other group d game saw Dylan Holmes' BK Häcken look to finish their UWCL campaign with a win against Bayern, Häcken went into the game knowing they were unable to make the quarter-finals after only one win to their name.

The hosts looked confident early with Stina Blackstenius scoring the first of the day, Bayern would flex their dominance scoring five goals to wrap up the game and ensure they finish second in the group.

Holmes remained on the bench in the loss.
