Under 16's fall to Korea

The Westfield Australian U-16 Women’s team fell to Korea Republic n Wednesday at the National Football Training Centre in Paju, Korea.

The Westfield Australian U-16 Women-s team played their second international friendly match against the Korea Republic on Wednesday at the National Football Training Centre in Paju, Korea.

The Westfield Australian U-16 Women-s team started strongly but got caught on the counter attack by a well worked goal from the Koreans who opened the scoring. Despite keeping good possession for the majority of the match the Australians were punished when they got caught with the ball and conceded another goal before half time.

Despite the score the Westfield Australian U-16 Women-s team put in a strong performance and had a number of good chances to even the score but just couldn‘t put away the goals. The best chance came to Sunny Franco who had a shot from 6 yards but she couldn-t keep the bouncing ball down and it went just over the cross bar.

The Westfield Australian U-16 Women-s national team was on tour in Korea Republic as part of their preparations for the AFC U-16 Women-s Championships which will be held in Nanjing China PR from 18-28 September 2013 . The 2013 AFC U-16 Women-s Championships is the official FIFA qualifying tournament for the 2014 FIFA U-16 Women-s World Cup.
