Tale of the tape 2017

The Westfield Matildas kicked off last year's tournament with a stunning 1-0 win over United States. It was the side's first ever victory over America in 27 meetings, with Tameka Butt's strike midway through the second half settling the score.

Australia then built on their hoodoo-breaking win with a sensational 4-2 victory over Japan. Sam Kerr's opening half hat-trick was arguably the moment of the tournament overall, while Emily van Egmond added a fourth in the second half to complete a convincing display.

Finally, the Westfield Matildas underlined their tournament dominance with a 6-1 hammering of Brazil. A brace each from Lisa De Vanna and Caitlin Foord led the way for Australia, while Katrina Gorry and Kerr were also on the scoresheet.
