Norway qualified for the 1994 and 1998 World Cups and currently lie 37th in the FIFA World Rankings. They have a number of high-profile players in the English Premier League including Liverpool's John Arne Riise and Southampton's Claus Lundekvam.  Norway has been victorious in their last two World Cup qualification games beating Scotland (1-0) and Slovenia (3-0) and is currently placed 2nd in their Group.     Socceroos coach Frank Farina said;   "This will be an important match for us as we continue our build-up for next year's Confederations Cup and World Cup Qualifiers. I expect Norway to provide very strong opposition with many of their players competing in Europe's best leagues.   “The vast majority of our players who missed the matches against the Solomon Islands through injury will be available again for selection and we hope that we can provide a great spectacle for the crowd.  I would especially like to urge all Aussies in London to come along to the game and show their support as we look to establish a solid base of Socceroo fans in London for future matches."   Fulham Football Club CEO Jim Hone said;   “This season marks the Club-s 125th year. As part of our celebrations we are delighted to have been honoured by the Australian F.A. to provide the venue for this prestigious event”.   Australia and Norway have only met once before at senior level with Australia winning 1-0 at Aussie Stadium in Sydney in January 1997.

The match will be the last for the Socceroos for 2004. The next scheduled match will be against South Africa in Durban on 9 February 2005.
