Bresciano's match-winner against Uruguay at Stadium Australia eight years ago is one of the enduring images of Australian sport.
On that night, Bresciano's contribution was crucial in securing Australia's first FIFA World Cup qualification in 32 years.
Having since appeared at a second FIFA World Cup, Bresciano has his sights set on a third and knows that such a feat will be in touching distance with a win on Tuesday.
"Yes, it is a very critical game for us," said Bresciano.
"The position we-re in a the moment isn-t the best, we need these three points and the mood is really good.
“All the boys, we-ve seen that they-re really focused, we all know what-s at stake so we all know how important this game is.
“We can just see it at training, the intensity at training and how all the boys are focused.
“We-re on the right track and the right road to get the three points on Tuesday.”
Bresciano has re-emerged as a Qantas Socceroo lynchpin after an 18-month period without an appearance in green and gold.
Since his comeback performance in Melbourne a year ago, Bresciano has become crucial to Holger Osieck's FIFA World Cup qualification plans.
The 33-year-old's omission from last October's qualifier away to Iraq was the first time Osieck hasn't utilised his midfield star since his initial contribution en route to Brazil.
"I don-t mind it (the position coach Holger Osieck plays me in)," said Bresciano.
"Actually, I fit in pretty well, I-m pretty comfortable to play in that position, I do receive a lot more of the ball and maybe start the action, where maybe years before, I was more up front and trying to conclude the action.
“It doesn-t bother me, I still get my chances when I see when I can go forward.
“It-s always in me that I like to be in the attacking third and try and score goals or create goals, but I-m happy to play in the position the coach is playing me.”
The Qantas Socceroos- road to Brazil recommences on Tuesday, 26 March at Sydney-s Stadium Australia with a crucial clash against Oman. Kick off is at 7.30pm AEDT.
