The Socceroos have urged fans to get out to Sydney's Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour today so they can thank the Australian public for the fantastic support the team has received over the past 12 months.

With the majority of the World Cup squad in attendance, fans will be able to hear from the players who captured the heart of a nation during their dramatic performances at the FIFA World Cup.

After a Saturday night's dramatic and emotional match, which Australia drew 1-1 with Paraguay, it's down to business with Wednesday's night important Asian Cup qualifier against Bahrain.

Goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer said that he was looking forward to paying tribute to the supporters that inspired the team to the second round of the World Cup.

“The support we received both in Germany and back in Australia was outstanding and I-m looking forward to being on stage to applaud those that did so much to inspire us,” said Schwarzer.

Local heroes from the Hyundai A-League-s Sydney FC will join the Socceroos at the event, giving fans a chance to meet all their heroes.
