Tickets will go on general sale to Australian Sports Fans tomorrow for the Socceroos blockbuster home internationals against Argentina and Uruguay in June.

With the 2007 AFC Asian Cup to be held in July the matches will be vital for the team's preparations as they take on two of South America's strongest football nations.

“The Football Family responded strongly to their priority purchase opportunity last week, so we are encouraging sports fans to get in early when tickets go on general sale tomorrow, because demand for the remaining tickets will be high,” said Geoff Parmenter, FFA-s Head of Marketing, Communications & Strategy.

In a rematch of the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff, Uruguay return to Telstra Stadium on Saturday 2 June looking to exact revenge on the Australian team for keeping them out of the finals in Germany.

"Everyone who was there on November 16 will remember it as one of the most unforgettable nights of their lives," said Socceroos coach Graham Arnold.

"It truly was one of the most special moments in Australian sporting history. The atmosphere created was unbelievable and we hope to see that recreated again in June.”

The Socceroos final home match before the Asian Cup will see them take on two-time World Champions Argentina at the MCG in Melbourne on 6 June.

Last year the Socceroos played Greece at the same venue in front of 95,000 fans and it proved a hugely motivating send off prior to the World Cup.

“There is no doubt that the incredible reception that the team received in Melbourne last year was a factor in spurring them on to Germany,” added Arnold.

“The 2007 AFC Asian Cup is a massive tournament and we are looking forward to everyone getting out to give us another great send off.”

Both Uruguay and Argentina will use the matches as vital preparation for the 2007 Copa America tournament.

Tickets for both matches go on sale at 9am AEDT tomorrow (Tuesday 6 March).

Both games will be televised live and exclusive on FOX SPORTS.
