Westfield Matildas striker Kyah Simon signs with NWSL club

Injured Westfield Matildas striker Kyah Simon has signed with Houston Dash for the upcoming NWSL season, the club confirmed on Thursday.

Simon injured her hamstring in Melbourne City’s win in the Westfield W-League final, ruling her out of the Westfield Matildas' Algarve Cup campaign.

Before joining Melbourne City, Simon spent 2016 with the Boston Breakers, netting three times in 23 appearances.

A proven goalscorer with 23 goals in 76 matches for the national side, Houston will be hoping Simon can fire them into the NWSL playoffs for the first time.

They have finished no higher than fifth in the last four seasons.

Simon will remain in Australia for the meantime to continue her rehab.
